The SAT is taken by students who want to enroll in undergraduate programmes in the United States. For undergraduate entrance to most universities in the United States, the SAT is required. In addition, several institutions provide SAT scholarships to candidates depending on their SAT scores.
The College Board administers the SAT 1, sometimes known as the Scholastic Assessment Test, which is required of students seeking admission to undergraduate colleges. The SAT 1 is a broad test designed to assess applicants' writing, verbal, and mathematical abilities. The SAT 2 is, on the other hand, a more subject-specific examination. Students who want to be enrolled to a certain course must take the SAT Topic Test to demonstrate their understanding of that subject. The College Board will stop offering SAT Subjects in June 2024. Aspirants now just need to take the SAT 2024 to get admitted to their selected UG programme.

SAT Exam 2024 - Recent Updates
The College Board just stated that the SAT exam would go digital in 2023, and it will be two hours long instead of the three hours it is now. For the arithmetic component of the exam, test takers may also be permitted to use a calculator. Priscilla Rodriguez, Vice President, College Readiness Assessments (PSAT & SAT) at The College Board, said, "The digital SAT will be easier to take, easier to offer, and more relevant."
