What is UGC NET Exam 2024 ?
The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level test used to decide whether individuals are eligible for solely Assistant Professor Positions or for both JRF and Assistant Professor Positions at Indian universities and colleges. NET was administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) till June 2018. However, since December 2018, the National Testing Agency (NTA) began administering the UGC NET test in 81 subjects.

UGC NET Exam Application Form 2024
Here are the steps to fill the Application Form:
- Visit ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Select 'Application form' from the drop-down menu.
- Select 'New Registration' from the drop-down menu.
- Complete the registration by entering the essential information.
- Fill out the entire application form.
- Upload a scanned copy of your passport photo (10-200 kb) as well as your signature (4-30 kb). JPEG format should be used for both photographs.
- Pay the UGC NET application fee (INR 1000 for general candidates, INR 500 for OBC/EWS candidates, and INR 250 for SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates).
- Fill out the form and submit it.
- Save the confirmation page on your computer.
UGC NET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2024
The following are the basic requirements that applicants must achieve in order to be eligible for the UGC NET in 2024:
- Candidates must have at least a 55% overall grade point average in post-secondary education.
- In order to be eligible for JRF, candidates must be under 31 years old.
- To apply for the position of Assistant Professor, there are no age restrictions.
- Candidates from the reserved category receive a 5% reduction in educational requirements.
- Candidates in the reserved category are awarded a five-year age exemption.
- Candidates who passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) prior to June 1, 2002, are not required to take the UGC NET test.
Curriculum
UGC NET Exam Syllabus 2024
The University Grants Commission has established the UGC NET syllabus 2024. (UGC). Paper 1 and Paper 2 have various syllabuses. Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Comprehension, Communication, Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), People, Development and Environment, and Higher Education System are all covered in the UGC NET Paper 1 syllabus. The UGC NET Paper 2 curriculum, on the other hand, differs for each of the 81 subjects. Candidates must select a subject for Paper 2 when filling out the application form.
UGC NET Exam Pattern 2024
UGC NET Exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 and 2. Both papers contain multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates need to complete both papers in a single duration of three hours.
